Typical Sites
No website is typical, but there are some commonalities from
site to site. Most small businesses can get their
message across in 3 well-formed pages.
Usually, there is a Main page that houses basic
information about the company. There is a second page
that has more detailed information about the products or
services that are offered. Finally, there is usually a
contact page, with information on how to contact the company
for more information.
For most companies, I can create a three-page website
from a template for under $300.00. I can also assist
my customers in obtaining hosting and a domain name.
Working in Flash is a bit more expensive, so if you are
planning a site with a lot of flash, expect the bill to be
higher. Regardless, I do give an estimate before we
begin work, and once you sign a contract with us, you don't
pay anything more than is on the contract for work contained
in that contract. If you want to add other pages or
features, a new contract will be necessary.
More Detailed Sites
Don't feel locked in to a small website if you want or
need a bigger one. Some companies (especially those
with a large variety of services or products) need to have
more pages. They want to showcase each of their
products (or at least a wide variety). Sites like
these need to be built with an eye toward balancing cost and
exposure.
I have designed sites for photographers who wanted to
have galleries of photo examples and potters who wanted to
show off their wares. I am willing to custom design a
site to suit your needs.
Packages
Regardless of the package you choose, once the original
contract is completed, I provide you with a CD copy of the
website (all files and graphics), as well as screen shots of
the major pages and other documentation needed to maintain
the site. This way, if at some time in the future, you
want to restore the site to the original condition, you will
have everything you need to do so. I also keep a copy
here in the office for the same reason. All this comes
in a portfolio for safe keeping. Most of my
competitors do not provide these files or documentation.
Delivery packages for clients outside of the continental US
requires a separate delivery fee.
For Maintenance Contract customers, I also send a CD copy
of the web site at the end of the contract. This
serves the same purpose as the original archival CD.
It allows you (or us) to restore your site to the way it was
at the end of the maintenance contract. Delivery
packages for clients outside of the continental US requires
a separate delivery fee.
